Now that the state of Arkansas has said yes to a Ten Commandments monument on the Capitol grounds, it’s fair game for non-Christian groups to apply for space as well.
A Hindu group’s statue of Hanuman was recently rejected on a technicality, but they may try again soon. We also know The Satanic Temple plans to apply for a spot for their statue of Baphomet (below).
Now, the Freedom From Religion Foundation is stepping into the fray by applying for a permanent display that reads “there are no gods.”
MAY REASON PREVAIL
There are no gods, no devils, no angels, no heaven or hell.

KEEP STATE AND CHURCH SEPARATE
Presented (add date) to the State of Arkansas on behalf of the membership of the Freedom From Religion Foundation, in honor of the Establishment Clause of the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution
That’s similar to the message seen on Winter Solstice signs that FFRF has put up in government buildings over the past few years.
FFRF will take care of all costs for the display, so Arkansas taxpayers have nothing to fear. The question is whether state officials realize that they’ve created an open forum for all displays by allowing a Christian one.
It’s too early for a response from Governor Asa Hutchinson or Secretary of State Mark Martins, but they’ll have to face the facts at some point.
