KARACHI: Sindh government has launched an interest free loan for poor women in five divisions of the province. The scheme will continue to benefit the poor women year-by-year. The Sindh chief secretary disclosed that Rs 50,000 per head to be recovered in three years. Sindh Chief Secretary Siddique Memon said this on the eve of first balloting for 200 candidates, 40 from each division of Hyderabad, Sukkur, Larkana, Mirpurkhas and Benazirabad. In the first phase, Rs 1 crore has been allocated, out of total Rs 13 crore to run the scheme in the forthcoming years continuously. Women Development Secretary Aijaz Mangi and Secretary General Administration, Sajid Jamal Abro, were also present on the occasion. Under the interest free loan schme, the poor women of the province would establish small-scale business like tailoring shops, beauty parlours, livestock, general and grocery store etc. The Sindh chief minister will distribute the cheques amongst the beneficiaries.
