You guys, I was sent a whole box of FloraCraft® Make It: Fun® Foam Discs and couldn’t wait to get started on the perfect home decor craft. The thing that I love most about it, is that of the 3 pumpkins I made, 2 of them can transition from Halloween into Fall/Thanksgiving decor!!!! Now, let’s not chit chat too much, let’s jump right into the project!!!!
You will need
- 1/4 yard fabric in 3 different patterns. If you want to use the biggest disc, you’ll need a little larger than 1/4 yard.
- Foam discs
- Hot glue & hot glue gun
- random twigs
- fabric scissors
Start by cutting your fabric to size for the disc. you’ll want it at least 1/2 inch wider than the circle. I left mine extra long and then trimmed once done
Next you will insert one of your twigs into the foam. Remove the twig, fill the hole with hot glue, and then put the twig back in. Let it cool to hold in place.
Next you will cut a slit in the fabric just so it can wrap around the twig. Once it’s cut, you will start hot gluing into position all the way around the back side of the disc.
SIDE NOTE: make sure your fabric is going the direction you want, with the twig at the top, before you cut your slit.
Working at about 2 inch sections, put hot glue around the edges of the back. adhere the fabric to the back and hold in place so that it can cool off and adhere in place. then continue all the way around. Once everything is cooled off and the glue has dried, cut off excess fabric from the back of the pumpkin.
Do the same for each pumpkin until you’ve used all your fabric and different sized discs.
These are so cute & easy! I love that you can perch them anywhere because they’re so flat. I already have the perfect branches for these from another project, so these are on my list. Thank you!
