Small screen, big presence

We here at WAG got an update from Samantha Knapp at Tiger Lily’s, the interior design studio and custom workshop in Greenwich, last week.

And we’re glad she shared her exciting news – that she was going to be on national television this past weekend.

You may recall Knapp, the broadcast-TV journalist-turned-designer, from our feature in WAG’s May 2013 issue. We had met Knapp at the Architectural Digest Home Design Show earlier that year, and we, like many others, were impressed by her singular style.

When talking with her for the story, Knapp told us that her role in the family business includes helping raise the company profile – and she’s done it again.

This past weekend, Knapp was the featured designer during an episode of HGTV’s “House Hunters Renovation.” She worked with CNN Construction and a young couple who had just purchased their first home, in Fairfield County. The hourlong show traced the efforts to change a workmanlike Cape into quite the stylish surroundings.

The episode was a great showcase of Knapp’s daring style, her wealth of cutting-edge ideas and approaches and her charming way with people – she convinced the skeptical couple to let her keep an outdated chevron-patterned wall and went on to transform it into a real statement, one that had the couple both surprised and delighted.

WAG sends out its congratulations to Knapp and all at Tiger Lily’s.
