Surprise club set to match Bournemouth’s £15m offer for Jordon Ibe

Liverpool have already accepted a £15m bid for Jordon Ibe from Bournemouth, but the winger is not rushing into signing a contract as other clubs state their interest, reports the Mirror.

We’ve made the youngster available, but with seven weeks left of the transfer window, the Englishman wants to wait to see if any better options arise.

According to the report, West Brom and relegated Newcastle are considering matching Bournemouth’s offer for Ibe.

Interestingly, Bournemouth want Ibe to replace Matt Richie, who joined Newcastle, but Rafa Benitez also wants our winger having lost Andros Townsend to Crystal Palace this summer.

Ibe shone on loan in the Championship for Derby in 2014/15, but returned to Liverpool with the expectation he’d go on to establish himself as a top Premier League player – especially after Raheem Sterling left to join Manchester City last summer.

Sadly, it’s not worked out that way, and Ibe’s regressed if anything, falling down Jurgen Klopp’s pecking order behind the likes of teenage sensation Sheyi Ojo.

Liverpool will surely accept any offer for Ibe that matches Bournemouth’s, which includes buy-back and sell-on clauses – so then it’ll be up to the player to decide on his future. We can’t imagine he’ll drop down the leagues though, even though Newcastle are a much, much bigger club than Bournemouth.
