WUSA-TV in Washington, D.C., reported Tuesday that an anonymous donor has stepped forward to pay the funeral costs for Zema Williams, better known as Redskins superfan Chief Zee.

In April, fellow Redskins fans banded together online to save Mr. Williams from being evicted from his residence, as WTVR.com reported at the time.

Mr. Williams’s funeral, which is open to the public, will be on Wednesday morning at the First Baptist Church of Glenarden.

The megachurch, the auditorium for which seats 4,000, is less than two miles from FedEx Field, where Mr. Williams spent many a Sunday.

A military veteran — he served two years in the U.S. Army in the 1960s after receiving a draft notice — Mr. Williams will be buried at the Jacksonville National Cemetery, according to his death notice at obituary website Legacy.com
