Coffee Talk {living outside the stacks}

I’d like to welcome you to Coffee Talk. If you’re new here, this is where I share some of the great and not~so~great stuff that I find on the web. Topics range from news stories that leave me scratchin’ my head to DIYs that I think are absolutely clever. And, who knows, there may even be a recipe thrown in here or there just for fun.

So grab a cup of coffee {or tea or whatever floats your boat} and let’s talk…

We made it to the end of the week. Yay! Have you ever had one of those weeks that just felt off? That’s how this week has been for me. I was rear ended two weeks ago and, while I’m fine physically, my truck has been in the shop since then waiting on repairs. So I’ve been driving a rental car for the last three or four days, and I miss my truck, y’all. I should mention, the other driver wasn’t injured in the accident either. I do thank God for that because it could’ve been so much worse. Really, it’s just the inconvenience of it all.

Squeekerz still has his stitches because my rental car contract won’t allow me to transport him in the vehicle. I hope this doesn’t cause problems when they go to remove them. He’s been such a trooper since the surgery. Actually, I think the surgery triggered a friendly nerve in him because he’s been uncharacteristically nice. He wants to be held. He let’s me pet him. He even let the girls pet him when they came home over the weekend. We’re all a little scared.

Do you have plans for the weekend? I’m working so I’ll be hanging at the library. That works because I have some grading I have to do for one of my classes and I have to process some journals to go to the bindery. Yay for keeping busy, right? I also have prep work for a couple of library sessions that I need to do. People are always surprised to find out that librarians teach. We do. We teach people how to do research, how to use different forms of technology, etc. I think that’s one of the things I enjoy most about my job, I have to know how to do a variety of things and I get to learn something new about a wide variety of topics every day.

You guys, this election cycle is almost over. We can make it. We. Can. Make. It. I promise you. Of course, depending upon who wins, we’ll have four years of whining or 3 AM twitter wars. sigh

Now it’s your turn, what has you scratching your head?

Sipping my coffee while you talk,

Daenel T {Living Outside the Stacks}
