Most obnoxious drivers: Men in blue BMWs, report finds

The votes are in and the tallies are counted. A new study finds that the most aggressive drivers on the road are men between the ages of 35 and 50 who drive blue BMWs.

And their most obnoxious, angriest drive times are 5:45 p.m. on Friday, followed by early Monday mornings, The Daily Mail reported.

The study included 2,837 drivers. They were asked to choose which model, make and even color of car was most frequently involved in road rage incidents — and the blue BMW topped the list, The Daily Mail reported.

The BMW was followed by Land Rovers, Audis and Subarus. The color Vauxhalls Blue seemed to be the color of choice for angry drivers, the study found. That color was followed by black, silver, green then red.

And the age and gender of the angriest drivers: Men, age 35 to 50, who had an estimated seven road rage incidents per month. That compares to women, who had on average three road rage incidents per month, The Daily Mail reported.

The study was conducted for the discount website VoucherCodesPro. Its margin of error was not reported.

“During peak periods of traffic, whether it be the Monday morning school run or the hectic rush hour on a Friday evening, it is all too easy to allow the common manifestations of road rage to get the better of us as motorists,” said George Charles of VoucherCodesPro, in the report. “This research, although slightly humorous in some of its findings, does indicate an important point.”
