The Campaign Will Celebrate The First Oz Novel By Ruth Plumly ThompsonÂ

Clover Press invites you to follow them down the yellow brick road as they launch their Kickstarter for The Royal Book of Oz! The campaign is live now, and celebrates the special significance of the first Oz novel not written by L. Frank Baum. Published two years after Baum“s death, The Royal Book of Oz is the first title in the series written by Ruth Plumly Thompson. This special Kickstarter edition will also feature brand new original artwork from Eisner Award winning artist, Sara Richard.

The Royal Book of Oz is the first Kickstarter project from the team at Clover Press. The hope of this campaign is to celebrate a writer that has been forgotten over time. Thompson wrote 21 books in the Oz series in a career that lasted more than 50 years. The original printing of The Royal Book of Oz also featured artwork from famed Oz artist, John R. Neill, and high resolution scans of his pieces are available in the campaign as a lithograph set. For this edition, Sara Richard has illustrated a new cover, end pages, and full color internal plates.
